Meet your host, Tess Abraham.
Welcome! I am so glad you found this podcast. Below you will find more about me, but to start, I’m a California native with a desire to make positive change in our state, for the good of our local communities!
Background
I was born and raised in Northern California and moved to Southern California to attend college, where I earned degrees in Accounting and Finance. After college, I married my best friend, and together we are building a life and community we love in beautiful SoCal. My passion for politics and deep love for my home state inspired me to make a difference by informing Californians and driving real change around us. That’s where The California Conversation comes in.
The Vision
Looking around California, it's clear that our communities face significant challenges—high living costs, rising crime, and unmanaged homelessness, just to name a few. But these problems are not inevitable! Change begins with getting involved in state and local politics, and that starts with being well-informed. By staying politically aware and responding with common sense, we can work together to restore our state to the beautiful place it once was, the envy of the entire country.
My Values
My Christian faith deeply fuels my passion. Inspired by Jeremiah 29:7, “Seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you… for in its welfare you will find your welfare,” I am committed to seeking what is good for our state and its residents. This inspires me to offer practical, gospel influenced responses to California’s challenges, as unwavering faith is the only foundation for true, lasting change.
“The foundation of every government is some principle or passion in the minds of the people.”
