Resources to Make Your Voice Heard!

Here is a compilation of the resources mentioned in previous articles for how to contact your representatives about bills you either support or oppose! Remember, even if a bill has already been passed, contacting your representatives is still an effective and necessary way to change policy in the future. After all, the members of our State Senate and Assembly are supposed to represent YOUR values and interests - let’s hold them accountable to doing that!

Step 1: Click the link below to search for your representatives!

Step 2: Enter your address to populate your representatives. See the example below (disclaimer: this is NOT my physical address, this is an example using the Los Angeles Superior Court’s address).

Step 3: Once you have populated your representatives, click their names to go to their individual websites and find their contact information. Some may just have a physical mailing address, others may include an email contact. Here is an example of Assemblymember Mark Gonzalez’s contact information:

Step 4: Write what you want to say, populate their mailing or email address, and send it off! I will include templates for each issue along with each article/podcast episode, but here is a template as an example for AB 1955.

There you have it! It’s as easy as that to make your voice heard to your Senator or Assemblymember! Just imagine if we ALL reached out to them on issues we supported or opposed - we can really make change, we just have to be willing to take a few minutes out of our day to advocate for our values!

Pass this along to your fellow Californians. Let’s do this together!
